Bewitched S04E11 - Allergic to Macedonian Dodo Birds, 1967

Directed by Richard Kinon, written by Richard Baer and starring;

Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stephens

Dick York as Darrin Stephens

Agnes Moorehead as Endora

Bernard Fox as Dr Bombay

Marion Lorne as Aunt Clara

Erin Murphy as Tabitha Stephens

Endora suddenly and mysteriously loses her powers. She is grounded for a whole day until she finally gives in to Samantha’s begging and calls on Dr Bombay for an examination.

After a complete check-up Dr Bombay comes to the conclusion that Endora is suffering from an allergic reaction to Macedonian dodo birds, which is puzzling considering they’ve been extinct for millions of years. The situation gets even more difficult as the only way to cure Endora is to brew a potion with the bird’s feather.

While Endora’s powers are gone Dr Bombay informs them that they could either be floating in limbo or be transferred to a relative whose powers are dwindling. Soon after, Aunt Clara arrives in spectacular fashion boasting about how her powers are back in full force but Samantha explains to her that she has Endora’s powers for the time-being. Aunt Clara decides to take advantage of having powers again until they would have to be returned back to Endora.

To everyone’s shock Tabitha comes downstairs from playing in her room only to be followed by a Macedonian dodo bird. As it turns out she conjured it out of one of her books the previous day and named it Bobby. It only makes sense that Endora must have come in contact with it when she was playing with Tabitha in her room when she lost her powers.

They summon Dr Bombay again who plucks a feather from the bird and starts brewing the potion. Endora drinks it and makes a full recovery and Aunt Clara is back to being a clumsy, helpless witch.
