Daddy-O, I'm gonna teach you some blues

From now on, that's all you'll be able to use

Do you hear me, Daddy-O

I'm gonna teach you some blues

However you wanted it, I sang your song

Whenever you wanted me, I tagged along

But that lipstick on your shirt isn't mine

I'm gettin' off, it's the end of the line

Do you hear me, Daddy-O

I'm gonna teach you some blues

Oh, you told you that a woman was your religion

But I didn't hear you mention that you meant 'em all

So you can just consider you're a dead pigeon

'Cause I gotta to be the only filly in the stall

A lot of fish are waitin' round who want a nibble

And your baby's got a line that they can't overload

So, Daddy-O, I'm hardly in the mood to quibble

And you'll make me very happy if you'll hit the road

You gave me the runaround, and that was wrong

You wanted to runaround, so run along

If we never meet again, it's too soon

I'll make a bet you'll be changin' your tune

Do you hear me, Daddy-O

I'm gonna teach you some blues

You gave me the runaround, and that was wrong

You wanted to runaround, so run along

If we never meet again, it's too soon

I'll make a bet you'll be changin' your tune

Do you hear me, Daddy-O

I'm gonna teach you some blues

I'm gonna teach you some blues

A look at a few events that took place in 1948;

Warner Brothers show the Tournament of Roses Parade as their first colour news reel.

**I am unsure whether this is the actual Warner Brothers footage or if it is a home video, but I believe it to be of the actual 1948 parade.

Teigin Poison Case: A man masquerading as a doctor poisons 12 of 16 bank employees of the Tokyo branch of the Imperial Bank and takes the money. Artist Sadamichi Hirasawa is later sentenced to death for the crime, but is never executed.

Indian pacifist and leader, Mahatma Gandhi, is shot by Nathuram Gedse in New Delhi. Gandhi was 78 when he was assassinated.

Orville Wright of the pioneering aviators, the Wright Brothers, dies at the age of 76 in Dayton, Ohio of his second heart attack.

Dame Mary Archer, a British scientist specialising in solar power conversion, is born.

Eliza Moore, the last person born into slavery in the United States, dies at the age of 105 years.

Maria Mandel, an Austrian SS-Helferin, is sentenced to hang for her key role in the Holocaust as a top-ranking official at the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp where she is believed to have been directly complicit in the deaths of over 500,000 female prisoners. She was executed at 36 years old.

Anna Maria Gove, the third woman to receive a medical license in the state of North Carolina, dies at age 80. She was resident physician, professor of hygiene and director of The Department of Health at the State Normal and Industrial School until her retirement in 1937.
