Of all the decades the 40's produced the best looking jumpsuits with the 80's coming a very close second, shoulder pads aside.
The Inspiration

For this jumpsuit I used the decade of the 80's as inspiration. Going through images on Vintage Patterns Wikia I was stuck on the 80's jumpsuit for some time until I finally put together in my head a look I was pleased with and an end-result that satisfied.
My absolute favourite look is the cross-over bodice and front shoulder yokes with some effect, in this case a single pleat.

The Final Product
While still in the planning phase of the design I had the colour blue in mind for the jumpsuit with the bodice being a print and the trousers being plain, both of a jersey knit.
Going to the fabric shop and picking out all the blue-coloured fabrics, I saw this light turquoise with red and yellow flowers and blue and white leafy accents and I immediately saw images of wearing this at a island resort seated beside the bar drinking cocktails during a humid evening rain storm, sleeves rolled up to the elbows.

This design I made in a size M that has a loose and comfortable fit, but since the fabric is a jersey knit it can pass as a size L with more of a slim fit.
